Industria de Diseño Textil, S.A. (Inditex; Spanish: [indiˈteks]; lit. 'Textile Design Industry') is a Spanish multinational clothing company headquartered in Arteixo (A Coruña) in Galicia. Inditex, the biggest fashion group in the world, operates over 7,200 stores in 93 markets worldwide. The company's flagship store is Zara, but it also owns the chains Zara Home, Massimo Dutti, Bershka, Oysho, Pull and Bear, Stradivarius, and Uterqüe. The majority of its stores are corporate-owned, while franchises are mainly conceded in countries where corporate properties cannot be foreign-owned.
On August 6, 2019, an anonymous former employee from Inditex/Zara, reviewed his experience working as a visual merchandiser for the company on the website "glassdoor":
"What a Waste: I worked at Inditex full-time for less than a year. There were zero pros to being recruited to work for Zara. They did not live up to their word. They hired us by telling about this great commission payment that they have and how people make more than their normal paycheck, etc. Well, come time for our new store to have all employees come out of the probation period, and they announce that the commission payment is ended company-wide. ARE YOU KIDDING ME!? Hired on lies. They knew they were getting rid of it and they used it as a selling point during their recruitment. Training with them out of state? hope you don't have to because they DO NOT pay/reimburse for transportation, rental, or Uber. They REQUIRE you to take public transportation! What a joke. Their HR dept isn't looking out for you. They are looking after you to protect the company. What a disgrace. They changed my salary payment to hourly payment and went against my contract. [...] that's illegal."

Former Employee - Sales Associate says"1. NO WORK LIFE BALANCE. REQUIRES 100% COMMITMENT. IT WILL FEEL LIKE YOU ARE SPENDING YOUR ENTIRE DAY HERE. 2. As a sales associate you are expected to do a lot which can be very stressful at times. Communication is bad and I've seen my store director yell at other managers many times. 3. No respect from management and no recognition of putting in hard work. I see sales associates and visual merchandisers that work really hard at their job and they're always the first to get yelled at by managers even though they're the ones who work the hardest. Other employees literally do nothing and only act busy when a manager is around. 4. Clear and blatant racism. Some may say this is a company practice, ask any current associate in New York and they will definitely agree. 5. FAVORITISM. IF YOU ARE POLISH, ALBANIAN, OR SPANISH then don't worry you can do whatever you want. 6. Promotions? Where? I've talked to people who have been sales associates for 3+ years and are interested in being promoted. 7. Your requests off for holidays, vacations, doctors visits will be ignored. You have to remind management 1000x times."
Former Employee - Sales Associate says"This was probably the worst place I’ve ever worked at. Management was horrible! And the customers were just as worse. You’ll be worked like a slave (and I don’t say this lightly). The reason I left was because they basically made me choose between school or that job, and school was WAY more important, but they didn’t see it that way. Horrible vacation/time off. If you didn’t show up for your shift on three separate occasions, even with a valid excuse, you would be fired. You are replaceable and they know that, so they treat you however way they want. Overworked, underpaid, not worth it."

Whoever is hiring internally has no idea what they are doing, which is clear by the high turnover rate. Highly unprofessional, I would never recommend this company to anyone. No perks. The sad thing is that the company is expanding rapidly in the American market. You will never grow in this company unless you are 1. Spanish 2. Are buddy buddy with the uppers 3. Are from Spain There is one problem I have with the people coming from the Spain HQ -- How can you bring people to work in the US when they have no sense of American culture, laws, practices, etc?! And give them management positions at that?! Makes absolutely no sense."

Management loves to sit around around in AC all day, gossip and discuss the workers personal business rather trying to come up an effective plan that can get themselves and workers out of the store in a timely manner. Oh yeah and forget about going to HR because they care just as much the Managers care. That location as a whole needs to be reconstructed from the bottom up. In addition, literally all the managers were born in 1997 and under so I mean how can you expect a place like this to have any kind of professionalism with a bunch of non-educated, young, immature people running it. Όταν δεν είχε κόσμο, οι υπεύθυνες μπαίνανε στην αποθήκη και αραζανε και εμείς σκιζομασταν στη δουλειά. Αυτό που καταλάβαμε όλα τα καινούργια άτομα,πριν κλείσουμε 6 μήνες μας εδιωχναν για να επωφελούνται οι παλιές τα bonus καταστήματος. Απαράδεκτη και απάνθρωπη συμπεριφορά.Για παράδειγμα ειχε τύχει επειδή δεν είχα φτιάξει σωστά το εσωρουχο στην κρεμαστρα να μου το πετάξει κάτω στο πάτωμα σαν τιμωρία για να το σηκώσω. Με λίγα λόγια ψυχολογικός πόλεμος."

Dependiente (Former Employee) says"Trabajar para la empresa Inditex; al principio es bueno pero después los encargados empiezan a hablar cosas de tu persona a tus espaldas y te tratan pésimo no tienen manera de pedir las cosas, no pagan las horas extra si entras a las 10 y sales hasta que la tienda esté completamente recogida no te lo pagan, cuando por culpa de la encargada todos se fueron y queda poco personal; te presionan hasta el punto de la frustración. Horrendo.Únicamente la paga y eso en ocasionesJornadas de más de 10 horas sin pago de horas extra y jefes prepotentes."
